La visita empieza a las 09h00 si es medio día y a las 07h30 si es día completo. Hay 38 km entre San Pedro de Atacama y el pueblo de Toconao, pero nosotros tomaremos aproximadamente 1 hora, porque nos detendremos en lugares estratégicos en donde aprenderá más sobre la Geografía chilena, luego continuaremos a Toconao en donde hay un control obligado, unos pocos metros más veremos un bonito paisaje muy bonito desde el puente.

Siguiendo el viaje llegaremos a LAGUNA CHAXAS donde se necesita paga un cargo ($ 2.000 o U$ 3, 7 por persona), sector 4 de la Reserva Nacional los Flamenco. En el lugar haremos una caminata por del Salar, observando formaciones salinas,  Flamencos y otras aves que tienen su  hábitat natural en la laguna, cuando regresemos visitaremos el PUEBLO DE TOCONAO, su famosa torre campanario, Iglesia y talleres artesanales. También haremos una caminata por su valle en donde hay huertos que cada año dan diversos tipos de frutas.  

OPTATIVO: Después de controlar en Toconao continuamos hasta el pequeño y acogedor pueblo de Camar para visitar su iglesia y calles, después retornamos a ruta 23 y 3 más km al sur veremos una parte del famoso el CAMINO DEL INCA, continuando llegaremos al PUEBLO DE SOCAIRE (Oportunidad de almorzar), siguiendo la ruta llegamos a las Lagunas Miscanti y Miñique ( $ 2.000 o U$ 3, 7 por persona) dos lagunas localizadas al pie de la cordillera de Andes, la vista es asombrosa y tendremos tiempo para observar aves típicas que viven especialmente en Miñique. Continuando llegaremos al SALAR DE AGUAS CALIENTES, quizás uno de los más hermosos, ya que esta rodeado de montañas, arbustos típicos que le dan una vista única, a 7 Km más nos encontraremos con el destino final que dependiendo de estación y posición del sol es posible ver Laguna Verde (Bolivia) o seca como el un pequeño Salar de Uyuni (Bolivia) esta referencia es para LAGUNA TUYACTU. De regreso visitaremos Laguna Chaxas y finalmente el Pueblo de Toconao.

VOLVER A EXCURSIONES

The visit starts at 09h00 if is half day and at 07h30 if is full day. There are 38 km between San Pedro de Atacama and Toconao villages, but we’ll take about 1 hour, because we’ll stop in two strategic places in where you’ll learn more about Chilean Geography, then we’ll continue to Toconao in where there is an obligatory Police Control, a few more meters we’ll see a very beautiful landscape from the bridge.

Following the trip we’ll arrive to CHAXAS LAKE in where you need pay a charge ($ 2.000 or U$ 3, 7 per person), another sector of National Reserve Los Flamencos. In the place there is a TREKKING inside the ATACAMA SALT LAKE and watching Flamingoes and other Birds who have the natural environment in the lake, when back we’ll see Toconao Village with its Famous BELL TOWER, Church, and Handicraftsmen Workshops. Also will be possible visit its VALLEY in where there are so many orchards who every year gives several kinds of fruits.

OPTIONAL: After Police Control in Toconao we continue until a small and nice village called CAMAR visiting its church and streets after we’ll take route 23 and 3 more km to the south we’ll see a part of famous Inca’s trail, continuing we’ll arrive to SOCAIRE VILLAGE (Chance to lunch), follow the route and arrive to MISCANTI & MIÑIQUE LAKES( $ 2.000 or U$ 3,7 per person) two lakes located at foot of the Andes Mountain Range, the view is amazing and there is chance to watch a very typical bird who lives in Both Lakes specially in the second One. Continuing we’ll arrive to AGUA CALIENTES SALT LAKE, maybe one of the most beautiful, because is surrounded by mountains, the colors are very specials and in the bank are typical grasses who give it a view unique. 7 more km we’ll find the final destination that depending of season is possible see it fill with water like Laguna Verde (Bolivia) or dry like Small Uyuni Salt Flat (Bolivia) this referent is for TUYAJTU LAKE. Follow the trip we’ll arrive to Chaxas Lake Then we’ll back and visit Toconao Village.
