Esta excursión generalmente comienza entre las 14h30 o
16h00 dependiendo de la estación. En Verano es el mejor momento, porque hay más
tiempo para disfrutar de la visita.
Primero se dirige
al VALLE DE LA MUERTE, donde es posible hacer una interesante caminata sobre
dunas de arena y superficies erosionadas, observando interesantes formaciones
geológicas, aprendiendo a identificar minerales y observando plantas y arbustos
que sobreviven en uno de los lugares más secos del planeta. Luego continuamos en
nuestro vehículo y paramos en lugares estratégicos con vista privilegiada en la
CORDILLERA DE LA SAL. Finalmente para ingresar al
VALLE DE LA LUNA se necesita
cancelar una módica suma de dinero ($1.500 o U$ 2, 7 por la persona), este lugar
pertenece a la Reserva Nacional los Flamenco y su administración está
a cargo de las comunidades indígenas de San Pedro de Atacama, Coyo, Sequitor, Río Grande y otras, ellos
se preocupan de
limpiar, conservar e informar del sector protegido.
Obligatorio es visitar y observar el monumento de sal más famoso llamado "LAS
TRES MARIAS",
detrás del mismo es posible visitar una pequeña mina de sal. Finalmente
realizamos un caminata que nos llevara hasta nuestro punto final en donde
veremos la maravillosa puesta de sol.
El momento más especial es cuando no hay luna o la
luna aparece tarde, porque usando sólo sus ojos será posibles aprender, conocer y
